Choosing Peace: My Journey Toward a New Life Abroad

For a long time I thought peace was a reward — something handed out at the end of a very long list of accomplishments. Finish the degree, fix the relationship, hit the number, then rest.

Moving abroad broke that math. Peace turned out to be a decision I could make on an ordinary Tuesday, in a kitchen that wasn't mine yet, with almost nothing settled.

What surprised me most was how quiet the big change felt. No fireworks. Just slower mornings, a language I was clumsy in, and the strange relief of being unknown for a season.
